Vinyasa yoga classes focus on releasing tension and stress, toning muscles, improving flexibility and balance, and breathing. Vinyasa, literally means “to place in a special way”. In a vinyasa class, each yoga posture gently flows from one pose to the next, linking the movement with focused breath. Laurie teaches a slow-flow vinyasa class, moving slower and softer than a typical western vinyasa class. Slow flow allows each student to flow thru a series of poses while at the same time, holding each pose longer to focus on alignment and breathing in the pose. This allows the student time to explore the pose and deepen their practice.
